Team BC Wins in Playoff Against Team Ontario
Team British Columbia, comprised of Matthew Broughton of Victoria, B.C., Kevin Ko of Coquitlam, B.C. and Chris Crisologo of Richmond, B.C., captured the Inter-Provincial Team Championship title at Osprey Ridge Golf Club in Bridgewater, N.S., posting a playoff victory over the Team Ontario squad. Broughton, who captured the 2012 B.C. Junior Boys’ Championship in mid-July, made birdie on the first playoff hole, No. 1, to clinch the victory for Team British Columbia.
“None of these guys had been on Team BC at this level of championship golf before, so congratulations to three rookies who came out here and played their best,” said Team BC Coach Jody Jackson. “We talked a little bit about keeping our heads in the game and never giving up and they followed suit. It was a really good team effort.”
